MyGreenClick is a tree-planting initiative that grew from a tiny seed of an idea into a brand new way of giving back.
Because Actions speak louder than words, we are sending free emails that give back. For every new reader that subscribes to our paperless e-newsletter, our sponsors will make a donation to American Forests to plant a tree for you.
We are also planting the seeds of change with our Because Action Daily newsletters, bringing you a world of "good" news and simple steps to enact change for the better in each of our lives.
Together, we hope to make this a better world.

Dale Y the Green Guy has been a featured DIY and Home Improvement writer throughout the Midwest (known as The Maintenance Guy) with over 20 years of experience in the field. As a Girl Scout Ranger in southeastern Wisconsin in the early 90's, he instituted a 'green' sustainable concept for the camp he was running, by introducing bio-degradable resources, seeding native plants in waste areas, and doing environmental landscaping for animals and humans alike. Since then, he has embraced being 'green' whenever possible. The MSN green site is a favorite stopping place for him on the net.
Kim Matthews is a production assistant for Big Horn Radio in Cody, Wyoming. Currently, she is working to get the community engaged in the sustainable agriculture movement by actively seeking an organic food cooperative and supporting local eco-friendly farmers with Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) memberships. Her passion is starting their homestead - the chickens will be here in April, the non-GMO seeds are ordered, and pack llamas should follow soon after. In Nebraska, she successfully guided one community garden into a network of gardens, launched a CSA to support the project, and started an immigrant farmer's project called Community CROPS.
Gina-Marie Cheeseman is a freelance writer/journalist with a degree in journalism from California State University, Fresno. She writes for various publications and websites, specializing in environmental and political issues. Gina-Marie became involved in environmental issues because she knows all too well about the effects of pollution. She lives in the San Joaquin Valley of California, the second worst air basin in the U.S.
She also writes poems under the pseudonym, Marie Ourganjian, and is working on a novel. She previously worked in public relations.

These are the good people who are planting trees for you.
Mission: To grow a healthier world.
Vision: To have healthy forest ecosystems for every community.
MyGreenClick is proud to have a charity sponsor in American Forests. They are a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry, and a primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests.
American Forests (americanforests.org) is the nation's oldest nonprofit citizens' conservation organization. Citizens concerned about the waste and abuse of the nation’s forests founded American Forests in 1875. The organization is proud of its historic roots in the development of America’s conservation movement and proud of the new approaches the organization has developed to help people improve the environment in the 21st Century. American Forests’ Ecosystem Restoration and Maintenance Agenda presents our core values and seeks to build support for our policy goals. These goals focus on assisting communities in planning and implementing tree and forest actions to restore and maintain healthy ecosystems and communities. We also work with community-based forestry partners in both urban and rural areas to help them participate in national forest policy discussions. American Forests seeks to increase awareness of the interdependence of communities and forests through our policy and communication activities with local partners.
The roots of our work at American Forest are deep in the communities we serve all over America. Whether it is planting trees to restore ecosystems damaged by wildfire, working with cities to reverse the decline in urban tree cover or instituting a Living Classroom project at a local school everything we do is community based. American Forests is a leading proponent of community-based forestry in the United States, providing workshops; publications and other resources to help people in communities use their resources in exciting new ways.
American Forests is about action and that is the focus of our major campaigns. Today, the organization's primary campaigns are "Tree-Planting for Environmental Restoration" and "Reversing the National Urban Tree Deficit," which encourage people to improve rural, suburban, and urban ecosystems by planting and caring for trees that provide important environmental and economic benefits including pure water, clean air, and wildlife habitat.

Global ReLeaf is an education and action campaign that helps individuals, organizations, agencies, and corporations improve the local and global environment by planting and caring for trees. So far, more than 25 million trees have been planted to restore damaged rural forest ecosystems, and millions in cost-share grants have been awarded to local partners for urban and community forest projects. It provides education and information on how to plant the right trees in the right places, the right way. The campaign was developed by AMERICAN FORESTS (americanforests.org), a national nonprofit conservation organization for the protection and preservation of trees and forests.
Through AMERICAN FORESTS' Global ReLeaf, individuals are encouraged to plant trees around their homes and businesses; join community groups to shade, cool, and beautify their neighborhoods; and plant trees through the Internet (www.americanforests.org). Local agencies and citizens’ groups can participate in projects to measure and evaluate their urban forests and organize environmental restoration projects. Corporations, businesses, and foundations can sponsor projects and contribute funds, expertise, and people power to support local tree-planting and care projects in the United States and abroad.
The Global ReLeaf network extends through every state and territory in America, as well as 22 countries worldwide. Global ReLeaf is grounded in the science-based programs of AMERICAN FORESTS.
Membership is $25 and includes a subscription to the quarterly magazine American Forests and the planting of 25 trees in a Global ReLeaf Forest. To make a donation or become a member please visit us online at www.americanforests.org, Call 1-800-545-TREE, or write to:
